Who made CND?

CND was created by Lysle Shaw-McMinn, aka Wormy. Every game and every page was made from scratch, including the discussion board.

When was CND created?

The version most people played was built in March 2008, but the original (one small map, player against player and nothing else) goes back to 2005. It ran until about 2014.

What is this remake?

The same game, rebuilt from the ground up. The old one was written in Flash, which no browser has run for years; this one is written for the browser you are reading this in. Same characters, same animations, same worlds, same rules. The movement and the interface are the parts meant to be better.

It is not finished. How to Play says what works today and what is still to come.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the game and you can play the tutorial straight away as Chip or Dale. You need an account to go beyond it and to keep your points, your save point and your character between visits, and registering takes about thirty seconds.

I had an account on the old site. Does it still work?

Yes. All 8,944 of them came over, names, passwords and points alike. Log in with the password you always used and it will still work. An account that never had one can ask for an email link instead, and a handful of names had to change very slightly to fit the rules, usually a stray punctuation mark or an accent.

One thing did change: the old scores ran into the tens of millions, which nobody could ever catch up with, so they come across capped at 10,000, a total a new player can reach.

Why is it named after Chip 'n Dale?

The name and the logo come from a flash video by Mercury Storm: a fake trailer for a Chip N' Dale's MMORPG, comparing it to the online games of the day. That video was what made me want to build the thing, and at first Dale was the only character you could play as.

The game will not connect. What should I do?

Check back in a few hours; it usually sorts itself out. If it has been down for more than a day, say so on Discord. Please do not assume somebody else has already mentioned it; it is much appreciated when you do.

I found a glitch.

Tell me on Discord. If it can be exploited, tell me quietly rather than posting it. Small harmless glitches I may well leave alone; gamebreaking ones I want to know about.

Someone is being rude or abusive.

Ask them to stop, and if they will not, let us know. Name-calling and bad language are not acceptable here. It may slide in game if nobody minds, but if somebody asks you to stop, stop.

Can I help?

Yes. Artists are the most useful of all, background and object art especially. If you cannot draw or program, telling your friends about the game and being decent to people on the boards is worth more than you would think.

Donating is very kind and goes straight back into the game; the buttons are at the foot of the sidebar. You will also be able to build worlds of your own in game, and if the rest of us like them they can be brought into the main world.

Can I link to this site?

Please do. Anything that brings more people in to play is welcome.

Do you know any more games like this one?

'Flurst' once recommended me Super Smash Flash, where you play retro characters fighting each other. I really enjoyed it.
